The system settings dialog enables you to configure some parts of the behaviour of Panavista
to suit you and your PC.
System Settings
<top>
To open the system settings dialog click the 'system settings' button.

The System Settings dialog:
Local Image Cache:
The local images cache stores copies of studies you have already downloaded on your local hard
drive, meaning the next time you view that study you do not need to download it again. This
greatly improves the speed of the Panavista client. You can clear out the image cache and change
the size of the image cache using these settings - you may wish to do this for example if you
are running low on disk space.
Image Display:
Use settings to turn anti-aliasing (smoothing) on or off and to adjust the difference between
each level of zoom. You can also increase or decrease the size of the magnifying glass.
USB Key Authentication:
With this setting turned on, you can use a USB key as an authentication device. This means
that when you have the key plugged in you do not need to enter a username/password combination
to authenticate yourself. The first time you log in, your details are saved to the USB key,
the next time you log in, if the same key is plugged in your details are read from that key -
rather than you having to type them in.
Panavista Active Launch Settings
<top>
Panavista Active Launch is a small unobtrusive application that runs in your system task tray
(on the task bar next to the system time).

Its purpose is to provide a fast way to launch Panavista (by double clicking its icon), but also
to allow linking from text reports in patient management software (see
Finding Studies from Reports).
To set the settings for Panavista Active Launch, right click the Active Launch icon in the
taskbar, and choose the menu option 'Edit Settings'. If the Active Launch icon is not present,
start the Panavista client, this will start Active Launch for you.
Start Panavista Active Launch When I log-in to Windows:
Answering yes for this option will start Active Launch everytime you start your computer. The
application will run unobtrusively in the task tray and will allow you to link from text reports
in patient management software even when Panavista is not running. If you disable this option
you will only be able to use the features of Active Launch once the Panavista client has been
launched.
Inline Active Launch is Currently:
This allows you to pause the Active Launch application temporarily.
Register a Window for Active Launch:
By default Active Launch will look for Panvista studies in any application you run on your PC.
This may not suit you. If you wish you can specify only certain applications that are to be used
with Active Launch. To do this click the 'Go' button. You will be prompted with further
instructions for how to register a window for Active Launch. Once you have registered a window
only the windows you have registered will now be used for Active Launch. You can reset this list
at any time by using the 'reset' button - this will return Active Launch to the default setting of
looking for Panavista studies in all windows applications.
